Expert Witness / OTIEE
Gwen’s segue into being an expert witness came 28 years ago when she was asked to testify in an intense custody trial for 3 of her OT clients who were siblings with developmental challenges. Initially apprehensive about the prospect of being cross-examined, she found that being forthright and truthfully advocating for the children came easily and she was not intimidated by skillful attorneys. Her testimony was credited with being a part of the best possible outcome for the children.
Since then, she has provided expert testimony in medical malpractice, personal injury, special education, and elder law cases. In addition to serving as an expert witness, she now regularly provides comprehensive Occupational Therapy Independent Educational Evaluations (OTIEE) for special education law firms and school districts and testifies for due process hearings and other court proceedings.
Gwen Olicker has helped so many families! She is knowledgeable, extremely skilled and compassionate. I've worked with her frequently throughout the years, and have always been impressed by her level of professionalism. Not only is she my go to occupational therapist when I need a consultation, assessment or services - I continue, without hesitation, to refer clients and colleagues to her. Simply awesome.

Gwen is a gem. Her work and professionalism makes her one of the finest OT in town. Every person that has read her report she prepared for my child compliments me for having found a person that did such a thorough, great assessment and report for my child’s IEE.
